Global Recruiter Doubles Up Coaching Support
Cornerstone International Group, a prominent global recruiter, has stepped up its Leadership Development services by doubling the number of certified professional coaches on its roster. It recently added 30 new executive coaches, bringing its worldwide total to 64.
Most of the additions are in North America as the first phase of a global build-out. Cornerstone also has an extensive network of member offices in Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
The organization has offered Leadership Development services for some time. Building the capability was a logical strategy, according to Chairman and CEO Simon Wan.
"We are a Top 10 provider in executive search,” he says, “and Leadership Development is a natural companion platform. Executive Coaching is a core component service and is expected to continue strong growth in the years ahead.”
Professional coaching is a $2.4 billion business with accelerating growth in excess of 10% annually, according to the International Coach Federation. The ICF is the world’s largest credentialing body and promotes standards of excellence within the profession. All Cornerstone executive coaches are ICF members.
The rapid adoption of coaching parallels the economic recovery since 2009 and the realization among corporate leaders of previously overlooked benefits.
“Ten years ago, executive coaching was primarily employed as a remedial tool to correct underperformance,” says Laurie O’Donnell, Chair of Leadership Development for Asia and the Americas. “Today, almost 60% of coaching mandates relate to sharpening the skills of individuals identified as future leaders."
