Stanton Chase Dallas Names Director With Specialty In Consumer Markets

Lawrence Allen, a senior executive recruiter and experienced global corporate executive, has joined the Dallas office of Stanton Chase as a Director.

The announcement was made by Steve Watson, Managing Director of the Dallas office of Stanton Chase, a leading global retained executive search firm with 70 offices in 45 countries.

He will be an asset to US companies gearing to be more globally competitive, or global companies recalibrating their US leadership team to accelerate development of the US market.

As a Director, Allen will focus on consumer markets, with specialized expertise in Fast Moving Consumer Goods, with particular emphasis on the chocolate and confectionery industries , and US subsidiary leadership for foreign-invested companies.

Based on his eight years on the front line of the global industry’s “chocolate war” in China, Allen authored Chocolate Fortunes: The Battle for the Hearts, Minds, and Wallets of China’s Consumers. This business book chronicled the quarter-century battle between the world’s chocolate companies for the hearts, minds and taste buds of China’s emerging consumers.

Prior to joining Stanton Chase, Allen spent five years in executive search with a leading global search firm in Beijing and Dallas. Before recruiting, he served in diverse functional and end-to-end roles for leading multinational companies, including: Managing Director, Asia Pacific; Regional Director of Operations, Far East; and Country Business Manager, China. He has led three start-ups throughout his career, the first a launch of The Tools of Vidal Sassoon hair care appliances across 10 APAC countries while Director of Operations for Conair. He incorporated and led the start-up of Hershey’s first Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE) in China, and he led the end-to-end start-up of a premier glassware plant and subsidiary organization based in suburban Beijing while being Managing Director Asia for Libbey Glassware.

He holds a Masters of International Management (MBA) from Thunderbird School of Global Management and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
