Korn Ferry: The Great Millenial 'Myth'
Korn Ferry analyzed the results of a survey of 145,000 workers from more than 50 countries with ages spanning 25 years. Their goal was to debunk the myth that millenials are less engaged or interested in work.
Here's what they found:
- Millenials, Gen Xers, and baby boomers all rank interesting job as the most important job characteristic.
- For Millenials, interesting job was three times more important to job satisfaction than high income and job security.
- Differences between age groups are three times larger than differences between generations.
Overall, work values have been consistent over the past 30 years despite age differences in the workplace. All employees, whether Millenials, Gen Xers, or baby boomers value the ability to make an impact through their work.
