Korn Ferry: Results of Study of Women CEOs
Korn Ferry has published the results of a four-month study of today’s female CEOs. Over 50 women who currently hold the CEO positions within either Fortune 1000 companies or large privately held companies were interviewed and assessed.
Personal histories, career paths, and personality traits were discussed, helping to pinpoint similar traits among the women CEOs. Korn Ferry has identified the following six insights from their study:
- These CEOs work harder and longer to get to the top.
- They were driven by both a sense of purpose and achieving business results.
- Differentiating traits sustained the women’s success on the road to CEO.
- They were more likely to engage the power of teams.
- Despite evident potential, the women didn’t generally set their sights on becoming CEO.
- The women shared STEM and financial backgrounds that served as a springboard.
