Korn Ferry: How to Empower Female Tech Leaders
In this article, Korn Ferry looks at the continuing trend of a lack of women in the top positions of tech companies in America. Out of the Chief Information Officers at Fortune 500 companies, only 14% are women, a decrease from recent years. Despite this, there have been some women who are able to buck the trend. Principal in Korn Ferry’s CIO practice, Emmeline Kuhn, authors a new report called “Breaking the IT glass ceiling,” which looks at three women who have risen to technology leadership within their companies.
These women credit the following reasons as to why they were able to be a part of that 14%:
- Transparent employee diversity data.
- Company implementation of female networking groups and empowerment of women employees to help shape company policies.
- Company culture.
