Korn Ferry has a published a report outlining eight imperatives of leadership development, which are broken into three sections: “What we do,” “Who we are,” and “Pause.” The report provides insight into what each of these 8 principles mean, as well as suggestions for how they can be applied.

The eight imperatives of leadership development are:

• Foster growth mindset.

• Optimize stress.
• Practice mindfulness.
