AESC Honors Recipients of the Annual Executive Search & Leadership Consulting Industry Awards

The Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants recognized during yesterday's Global Conference in New York City the achievements of three executive search and leadership consulting professionals for their significant contribution to the profession.

Our winners have been recognized for their accomplishments by AESC members and represent the present and future of our profession. Through their integrity, commitment to the profession, and a focus on client-service, they enhance our reputation with clients, candidates and the community-at-large."

The AESC's Gardner W. Heidrick Award is a capstone award, presented annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession. The 2015 award was presented to James N.J. Hertlein, Managing Partner, Boyden. Hertlein is active in Boyden's Board Services and Global Industrial Practice and has served on its Board for the last six years. He was the recipient of the Boyden Bowl Award in 2014, which honors true global citizens who contribute to the firm's overall leadership and success. In addition to helping grow and guide Boyden, Hertlein has been a committed leader for the AESC, serving for six years on the Americas Council as Treasurer and Chair, as well as serving on the AESC Global Board of Directors, as Director, Treasurer and Chair.

The Eleanor H. Raynolds Award is awarded annually to an executive search professional who combines excellence in search with a strong commitment to volunteerism. The 2015 award was presented to John F. Salveson, Co-Founder and Principal, Salveson Stetson Group, Inc. Through his leadership roles with several large non-profit organizations, Salveson has recruited and developed executives and board members and served as a subject matter expert on human resources, talent management, succession planning, executive coaching, and organization development. Salveson has also contributed greatly to the community as an advocate for the survivors of child sexual abuse. In 2006, he founded the Foundation to Abolish Child Sex Abuse (FACSA) to advocate for changes in the criminal justice, judicial and legislative systems to provide protection and justice to child sex abuse survivors.

The Future of the Profession Award is a new award designed to engage the next generation of leaders in executive search and leadership consulting. The recipient of this award was Anneke Ferreira, Managing Partner, Ferreira & Associates, in South Africa, who transitioned from marketing management into a successful career in executive search in 2004. Ferreira's rapid trajectory within her career resulted in her appointment as Head of DAV's Business Innovation and Corporate Relations divisions. By establishing a new Africa and Emerging Markets Division, she opened doors to more international business opportunities. In 2012, Ingrid Kast, CEO of her previous company asked Ferreira to join her in an executive search partnership called Kast & Partners International Executive Search. After three successful years Ferreira is now on a new journey, taking the lead in building the next generation search firm - Ferreira & Associates International Executive Search.
